MoD Says US Drones Entering Afghan Airspace From Pakistan

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that American drones are entering Afghanistan’s airspace from Pakistan.

At a press conference, acting Defense Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid asked Pakistan to not allow its airspace to be used against Afghanistan.

The minister said that this action of the US is a violation of Afghan territory.

“Based on our information, these [drones] enter Afghanistan through Pakistan and use Pakistan’s airspace. We ask Pakistan not to use its airspace against us,” the defense minister said.

The Islamic Emirate’s spokesman earlier said that American drones were presently flying over Afghanistan.

Speaking at the conference, Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid stated that currently there are about 150,000 members of the army, and some of the forces of the previous government have also joned the army.

“The army has a total of about 150 thousand soldiers, and we want to strengthen the force in the near future,” the defense minister stated.

At the press conference, Army Chief of Staff Fasihuddin Fitrat said that in the past year nearly 4,500 people have been expelled from the army for various reasons.

Fitrat emphasized that security is currently ensured in all parts of the country, especially in Panjshir province.

“The situation in Panjshir is under control. The Islamic Emirate’s security forces, or mujahideen, are in charge of the whole Panjshir province. Of course, if someone wants to disturb the peace, harass the people, and create trouble in the area, they can go to a certain area of the mountain and use a Kalashnikov to do it,” Fitrat said.

According to the Ministry of Defense, efforts are still being made to implement the security pact with Qatar. A delegation has been appointed within the Ministry of Defense to handle this matter.
